Challenge the speed: copy a live product or category URL into Google PageSpeed Insights and select Mobile. Results vary with the page, test conditions and subsequent changes. The July study below is a historical sample, separate from these current live stores.

The July 2026 study · historical sample

Measure the pages
your customers use.

The sample shows a widespread mobile speed problem. A PageSpeed result tells you where to investigate; the right fix depends on the actual page, theme, images, hosting and integrations.

MeasureStores with a resultFinding
Mobile performance score97251.8/100 average; 46% scored under 50
Largest Contentful Paint97116.0s average; 61% exceeded 10s

One PageSpeed result per sampled store is retained for this summary. These overall figures do not identify the cause of a slow individual store.

"Wait for content" is Largest Contentful Paint — when the biggest thing on the page finally renders. Google's threshold for good is 2.5 seconds. Measured on a throttled mid-range phone on 4G: a lab test, but roughly what a lot of people are holding.

The uncomfortable bit

Most stores aren't broken. They're average — which is the trap.

46% scored under 50, but only 9% scored under 30. Many scores fall in the middle, where a slow page can feel normal until someone measures it.

You're not broken. You're average. And average is a 16-second wait. Nobody rushes to fix a store that's no worse than its rivals. Measuring the pages customers use gives you a starting point for improvement.

Why this happens

Where the wait
can come from.

01 — The front end

What the page has to load

Some themes load more code than a page needs. Measure your actual pages before deciding whether theme work, image work or hosting will make the useful difference.

02 — The quote

A rebuild involves more than a theme

Product data, URLs, integrations and checkout all need a migration plan. We scope those jobs before quoting a storefront project.

03 — The gap

Pages need regular measurement

New images, scripts and integrations change a page over time. Check the pages buyers use most and keep a clear owner for performance work.

What we actually do

Keep the Magento engine.
Replace the front of it.

Magento remains the commerce engine for products, customers and orders. AgenticSuite provides the Astro storefront, visual layout controls and module suite. We build alongside your existing store, plan the data and URLs, and agree the cutover before launch.

A useful speed test has to include real products, images, navigation, search and checkout paths. For a prospective build, we measure representative pages with the catalogue and integrations in place.

01Use real catalogue pages
for the first baseline
02Compare like-for-like
mobile conditions
03Check again after
the storefront launch

A cold Lighthouse result and Google's field data answer different questions. We record the date, URL, mobile test conditions and actual page content when comparing a customer's before and after results.

Worth knowing

Test a working shop, not an empty page

A static landing page has less work to do than a catalogue. Measure product and category pages with real images, filters, a basket and the integrations your business needs.

A tailored walkthrough can use a small sample of your products, so the design and workflow are easier to judge.

Don't take our word for any of it — run Google's test yourself.

Control page styles in Astro Admin

Choose a design preset, then edit the look of different page types without changing storefront code. Magento continues to hold products, customers and orders.

Map your URLs before cutover

We inventory current addresses, metadata and redirects, then check representative pages before and after launch. Search performance is monitored, not promised.

Not really a shop? That's fine

Plenty of trade suppliers take the enquiry online and do the deal on the phone. We run one on SyncComms: a live Magento catalogue with quote requests and no cart.

Start from a working storefront

The frontend and module suite are already built, so you are not commissioning each capability from scratch. Catalogue migration, hosting, custom integrations and launch work are scoped separately.

The sample summary

It's all on this page.

The sample results above, common places to investigate, and a one-minute check you can run on your own site without paying anybody: pagespeed.web.dev, homepage, Mobile tab. The complete AgenticSuite platform

Keep Magento. Change the shop front.

AgenticEcom puts an Astro storefront in front of your Magento catalogue. Choose SEO-oriented designs, set different page styles in Astro Admin and keep product and order operations in Magento. We plan the data, URLs and cutover with you, then put the agreed build scope and price in writing.

All website modules included

The Suite includes the Astro storefront, all headless modules and all Luma-compatible modules listed on the AgenticEcom website. Business covers 1 production store, Studio up to 5 and Agency up to 20.

Licence and implementation

Twelve months of updates and priority support are included. Hosting, migration, training and custom development are agreed separately. See the Suite page for current prices and licence terms.

Browse the industry demo storefronts to explore layouts and product presentation. These visual Astro demos use sample catalogue data; checkout and payments are unavailable.

The demo

See what the Astro storefront can do with your products.

Share a small set of product URLs and the questions you want answered. We'll agree a sample for a tailored walkthrough, then show the design presets, page controls and Magento integration with your catalogue data where feasible.

The initial walkthrough is free. A build follows only after you have reviewed a written scope, price and delivery plan.

The questions everyone asks

Straight answers

What happens to my Google rankings?

It's the right thing to be nervous about — it's the one asset a rebuild can genuinely damage. We map current URLs and redirects before cutover, then check titles, content, canonical URLs and indexing on the new storefront. Rankings can change during any migration, so the launch plan includes monitoring and correction after go-live.

How long is my shop down for?

We build alongside your current storefront and plan an agreed switchover window with rollback steps. The exact cutover and any interruption depend on the store's integrations and hosting, so we test those paths before setting a date.

What about my existing orders and customer accounts?

Magento remains the system of record for customers, orders and addresses. We test the storefront journeys that use those records and agree any data changes before cutover.

How is the build priced?

We start from an existing Astro storefront and scope the work your store actually needs: catalogue and content migration, design, integrations, hosting, testing and launch.

You receive a written price and delivery plan before committing to a build.

Will a new storefront improve my speed?

It can, but the result depends on the pages, images, integrations and hosting in use. We measure representative pages before and after a build and agree the performance checks in the launch plan.

What happens after launch?

The Suite includes full source code and twelve months of updates and priority support. Renewal is optional. We agree hosting, handover and any continuing project work with you before the build starts.

What is included in a build?

AgenticSuite includes the Astro storefront, visual admin, all headless modules and all Luma-compatible modules listed on our website. The implementation proposal covers migration, design, integrations, hosting, training and launch work for your store. See the Suite page for current prices and licence terms.
